Ladd is Mayfield's "operating guy." He joined Mayfield after 30
years of entrepreneurial and operating experience in several successful
communications companies. Having spent most of his career on the "other
side of the table," David gives honest and quick feedback to entrepreneurs.
David focuses primarily on the communications and enterprise software
sectors. His interests range from communications components and systems
to telecom and CRM software services. He currently serves on the Board
of Directors of Banter Technologies, Boldfish, Cowave Networks, LGC Wireless,

through a number of mergers, became part of Octel Communications and then
Lucent Technologies. He worked half time at Lucent and half time at Mayfield
until joining Mayfield full time as a General Partner May of 1999.
David Ladd holds a B.S. degree in Engineering Physics from the University
