Dr. Peter Holden has over fourteen years experience in taking high technology
to the global marketplace in a multitude of roles from founder, investor,
marketer and CEO to developer and change agent. He has particular experience
in dealing with disruptive wireless, consumer electronics and broadband
enabling technologies.
He has formed over 20 start-ups internationally and been involved in
both corporate investments as General Manager of International Technology
Ventures for Matsushita Electric in Osaka, Japan, as well as in private
equity as founder and managing partner of a $50 MM seed venture capital
fund in New York which was successfully sold in January 2002 for a 2.2x
return on capital in two years. He has also worked as a corporate technology
consultant for a top European corporation and was Senior Vice President
for a public US company that is a world leader in the commercialization
of university and corporate R&D and technology. In June 2002 he co-founded
Global Asia Capital, a emerging technologies fund with strategic backing
and investment from leading technology corporations from the US and Asia.
He holds double first-class honors degrees in Engineering and Industrial
Management from Bradford University, graduating first in the class, and
a European Community sponsored Ph.D. from the Center for Innovation and
Technology Assessment at Cranfield Institute of Technology, both in the
United Kingdom. He is an Honorary Fellow in Global Technology Management
at Imperial College, London and formerly International Fellow at the University
of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan. He has been on the main board
of directors of 12 start-up and mid-stage companies including Polyfuel,
Inc. (USA), NTRU CryptoSystems, Inc. (USA), Espial Ltd. (Canada), SSEYO
Ltd. (UK) and IPI,kk (Japan). He is also an advisory board member to several
organizations including Columbia Strategy Group LLC, Tao Systems Ltd and
Dataplay, Inc.. He is a member of IEEE and holds dual USA and UK Citizenship.
